Freedom of Information Act 2000
The Freedom of Information Act (FOI) provides
to the public a general right of access to all types of recorded
information held by public authorities. This right is subject
to certain exemptions most of which require case by case
consideration of the balance of public interest. The Act
requires public bodies to produce a Publication Scheme stating
which information is easily accessible to the public.
Requests for information must be made in writing (which includes
e-mails). If you are unable to put your request in writing, please
telephone 01248 385532.
We will try and provide the information in the form requested
unless it is unreasonable to do so.
Time
CCW has 20 working days to respond to requests.
Clarification
Where an enquiry is unclear or too general to be meaningful,
we’ll contact the enquirer and ask for clarification. We will stop
the 20 day response clock until we receive satisfactory
clarification.
Cost
CCW will not charge if we can deal with your request under 2.5
days (£450 staff cost).
