Looking for a flash of turquoise
A flash of turquoise will delight the
organisers of a project on the river Teifi.

Working with local communities, the Teifi Rivers Trust is aiming
to find out more about the numbers and distribution of the
kingfisher on the river and its tributaries.
The project is part of a wider programme, grant aided by
CCW.
It is called the Afon Teifi Biodiversity Enhancement and
Education Community Project and the work on kingfishers is one of a
number of schemes being carried out along the length of the river,
from source to sea.
There is evidence of kingfishers in the area, but more detailed
knowledge of their numbers and nesting sites will help conservation
and protection work.
The Teifi Rivers Trust aims to improve the environment and
habitat, protect and enhance biodiversity and promote environmental
education in relation to the Afon Teifi Site of Special Scientific
Interest and Special Area of Conservation.
