Dyfi Biosphere Footpath Initiative

Dyfi Biosphere Footpath Initiative aims to:

  • Improves the links between sites, therefore enhancing the length of stay in the Dyfi Valley
  • Walking/Cycling routes with Interpretation provides an additional ‘attraction’/’visitor activity’ in its own right
  • Linking various attractions with economic hubs in small communities leads to a retention of tourism spend in the local rural economy
  • Reduce the carbon footprint of visitors by encouraging walking and cycling to various attractions in the Dyfi
  • This project will aim to work with Partner organisations to develop their volunteer opportunities
  • As above: partners include Wildlife Trusts, RSPB, Communities Firsts, BCTV
  • Creation of safe public access to various sites in Dyfi Biosphere will increase the links to natural heritage sites and will increase community cohesion with conservation and environmental management in the Dyfi valley
  • Interpretation will be designed to improve the inter-connectedness of people and place and highlight human impact on the environment.
