This map key relates to information shown on
the Outdoor Wales onLine and Fire Severity Index interactive
maps.
Access land |

CROW Access land - created by the Countryside
& Rights of Way Act 2000 which includes open country, common
land and public forests. |

Land with other rights of Access - Section 15
of the CROW Act which includes urban commons and commons with deeds
for access, land under the 1899 Commons Act and land under a Local
or Private Act. |

Permissive Access land – This Includes Tir
Gofal agreement, which give access to specified parts of the
farm, National Trust land and National Park access agreements and
means that the landowner or tenant of the land, has agreed to allow
public access for open-air recreation, normally on foot. |

Exclusions or restrictions - to CROW access land
(Public Rights of Way are not affected by any restrictions that
might be in force on CROW access land) |

The right of access is excluded, which means
that you are not allowed on the land while the exclusion is in
place. |

The right of access is restricted, which means
you are allowed on the land provided you comply with the conditions
set by the restriction |

Fire Severity Index
- The Fire Severity Index is a scale that we use to
predict high fire risk due to exceptional weather conditions or
exceptional changes in the condition of the land. These colours
should match how they display on the web |

Walking and cycling routes
- These routes are promoted and maintained by our partner
organisations |
|
Local Routes (Walking) – These are mostly circular routes or on
canal towpaths, some are multi user paths. They mostly use public
rights of way but some are on permissive paths with the permission
of the landowner. |

Local Routes(cycling) - These are mostly Sustrans routes, a few
are promoted by other partner organisations. |

Longer distance trails – These linear walking routes are
generally over 20 miles in length. |

National trails - These are long distance walking routes and are
considered to be the best in Wales in terms of quality and
standard. |
