Plug-ins
We sometimes use proprietary publishing
formats such as Adobe Flash or other media formats requiring
third-party plug-ins, for example, on our interactive maps pages.
In doing so, we have aimed for the highest accessibility standards
possible with that technology...
It is sometimes necessary to provide information within document
formats that require a file to be downloaded. This site uses PDF
(Adobe Acrobat) file format for the publication of large and
complex documents, as well as Microsoft word files (doc).
Please note that Adobe Acrobat documents can be converted back
to plain text using Adobe's Web-based conversion service.
- To view and print PDF files, you must have Adobe® Acrobat®
Reader installed. The software can be downloaded from
adobe.com.
- To view and print Microsoft Word files, you must either have
Word installed on your PC, or you can download Microsoft Word
Viewer software.
If these files are available to download on any web page, you
will find a link to their respective websites, from where you can
download the appropriate reader software.
As our website grows, we intend to provide consistent resource,
relevant to the web medium – as well as making print or ‘heavy’
file resources available – where appropriate.
In some cases CCW has a responsibility to publish large bodies
of work for our key target audiences, for example, a large work of
commissioned research.
As the site develops, we will therefore strive to produce a ‘web
friendly’ version of key documents and reports, where
appropriate.
