Glossary for letter: F
The sum total of all features (e.g. lithological, palaeontological etc.) that reflect the specific conditions under which a particular rock was formed or deposited.
A fracture in rock across which there has been an observable amount of displacement
An important group of rock-forming minerals that are essential components of many igneous rocks
A volcanic vent, distinct from those which erupt magma, from which volcanic gases escape.
