Land management

Trees, hedgerows, green pastures and common land are such a familiar part of our landscape we barely realise they need managing.

Much of Wales’ landscape supports essential industries like agriculture and provides opportunities for recreation.

These areas also include a range of important habitats and protected areas such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

Effective management structures therefore allow us to maximise environmental benefits and to achieve a balance between the needs of both commerce and conservation.
