LANDMAP values the ordinary as well as the spectacular landscape
and records information about the physical, ecological, visual,
historic and cultural landscape.
LANDMAP is an ongoing partnership programme between the
Countryside Council for Wales and all planning authorities in
Wales.
Since 2010 we have had complete quality assured coverage across
Wales, completed to the standards of the LANDMAP benchmark
methodology.
LANDMAP is now available as five all-Wales seamless maps. The
LANDMAP thematic map images available here show an all Wales
perspective of the LANDMAP classification and overall evaluation
for each layer.
The aspect area (character) boundaries have been removed for
clarity of the image at this scale.
Please also be aware that linear, small or coastal areas are not
depicted as clearly at this scale of image.
Improved images can be created if you have your own GIS so you
can zoom in to an appropriate scale.
Access to LANDMAP information for use in your own GIS is from
our GIS Downloads area.
