A large wetland, mostly National Nature
Reserve, and the jewel in the crown of the Anglesey fens. The site
boasts large areas of calcareous fen with great fen sedge, black
bog rush, bog myrtle, southern damselfly, wintering hen harriers
and marsh gentian.
Managing this site
The site is privately owned. The special features of this SSSI

Access information
Access is obtainable from Capel Coch, to the west of the site,
and there are new boardwalks being provided. For detailed maps and

Other information
Cors Erddreiniog forms part of the Corsydd Môn/ Anglesey Fens
Special Area of Conservation and also forms part of Corsydd Mon a
Llyn/Anglesey and Llyn fens Ramsar site. Cors Erddreiniog is also
National Nature Reserve. Cors means ‘bog’. Erddreiniog, also the
name of a medieval township, is of uncertain meaning but may be
based on dreiniog ‘prickly, thorny’.
